"My current work draws its inspiration from the space between the imaginary and the real, where multiple possibilities coexist. Fueled by deep introspection, the action takes place in the subconscious. There, a point of convergence emerges between an expressed emotion and its opposite. By depicting a character in close relationship with an object or an animal whose purpose is unclear, the situations sometimes seem complex. This playful universe explores a world of ambivalence where strength and fragility, lucidity and naivety coexist. Prioritizing a symbolic approach, each work expresses an idea, one that is not immutable, as I am aware of the shifting nature of my own perception. This idea proves subjective, since the object is never considered as an object but rather as a sign perceived by the subject. Between the strange and the familiar, an inner dialogue is created that draws the viewer back to their own imagination and gives the work a personal meaning."
Nathalie Boissonnault’s work has undergone several transformations. Today, she returns, in a sense, to her beginnings, when she explored a more intimate, sometimes surrealist universe. Introspective, she establishes a dialogue between two realities, emotional and timeless, imbued with theatricality and poetry. Through powerful symbols, she guides the viewer toward their own inner dialogue.
Her works are part of public and private collections and can be found in America, Europe, and Asia.
