Biography

Maxime Ajar, originally born in France and now living in Paris, is a self-taught visual artist whose practice focuses primarily on graphic expression.

He has been involved in the arts for most of his adult life, steadily developing a distinctive visual language. Although still young at 38, his experience and artistic maturity surpass what one might expect for his age.

Behind the work of the emerging artist known as Ajar is a story that unfolds quietly, for him, anonymity is not a strategy but a philosophy—an intentional step back that allows the work itself to remain at the center of attention.

Ajar studies the language of classical masterpieces and icons before reinterpreting them through his own meticulous process—recognizable at a distance yet transformed up close into something entirely new.
